The importance of a daily visual schedule cannot be overemphasized. Visual schedules help children understand and anticipate the flow of their daily routines.

The First-Then schedule visually shows children what rewards they can receive after completing the activities they need to do, thereby increasing their motivation.

Visual Schedule Effectiveness:

Providing Predictability : Visual schedules visually show the daily routine, allowing children to know what to expect next. This significantly contributes to reducing anxiety and increasing a sense of security.

Communication Support : Children with autism may find it difficult to express themselves verbally. Visual schedules serve as an effective communication tool, allowing them to understand and follow routines.

Promoting Independence : Visual aids allow children to understand and prepare for the next activity independently. This plays an important role in fostering self-reliance.

Transition Support : Moving from one activity to another can be stressful for autistic children. Visual schedules make these transitions easier and provide time to prepare for change.

Reinforcing Routines : Visual schedules help establish consistent routines. Consistent routines are crucial for providing autistic children with a sense of security and safety.
